BUFFALO SPRINGS IS YOUR LAKE:

Let’s Keep it That Way!

By Michael Shobe, Candidate for LCWCID Director, Precinct 3, Buffalo Springs Lake County Water Control & Improvement District #1

My name is Michael Shobe. I’m a lifelong Lubbock citizen and a 25 year resident of Buffalo Springs Lake. I am a local business owner (Hearing Technologies Inc) and I am currently serving as the Municipal Judge of the Village of Buffalo Springs Lake.

I am also your candidate for Buffalo Springs Lake, LCWCID Director, Precinct 3, Buffalo Springs Lake County Water Control & Improvement District #1.

Buffalo Springs Lake is a priceless and limited natural resource that BELONGS to YOU!

Unfortunately, it is being sold off to private investors for their personal profit at pennies on the dollar of its value. Without solid leadership with a long term vision, YOUR lake will be gone… forever.

We must act now to protect YOUR lake before it’s too late.

We must provide affordable access to Lubbock’s most active and fun local natural resource and recreation center.

We must provide a regular schedule of fun, family events to keep local recreational dollars in Lubbock, to provide local outdoor recreation opportunities, and to attract more regional tourists to YOUR beautiful Lake.

We must adopt Lake policies that are structured to benefit the residents of Lubbock rather than to the benefit of a select few.

Finally, we must protect YOUR lake from overreach by aggressive investors who find fertile hunting grounds and prey on the weak resource management that currently exists at Buffalo Springs Lake.

Buffalo Springs Lake has grown as a residential community. Over the last 65 years, we have changed. From the formation of the District on October 10, 1955, to today, the Lake has morphed from a part-time single-family recreation use county facility, into a vibrant residential and recreational community.

That growth has, in large part, been funded by your use of the Lake and your admission fees.

It’s YOUR Lake! Access to public camping, fishing, boating at reasonable rates are your right.

Buffalo Springs Lake has outgrown the “good old boy” and “who do you know” leadership structure that has only served to benefit the few. We owe it to ourselves and future generations to take control of Buffalo Springs Lake’s wellbeing.

If you want someone at Buffalo Springs Lake to represent your interests, I would ask for your support and your vote as for Buffalo springs Lake, LCWCID Director, Precinct 3, Buffalo Springs Lake County Water Control & Improvement District #1.

I will ensure that the residents in Precinct 3 have full representation to protect YOUR Lake, for YOUR FAMILY, for YOUR use, and for generations to come.

Early voting runs from October 13th through October 30th. Election Day is November 3rd.

Vote for Michal Shobe, LCWCID Director, Precinct 3, to ensure north and northeast Lubbock residents can keep THEIR lake!
