If you are older than 25 years, I’m hoping you remember September 11, 2001, when the Twin Towers in New York burned and collapsed to the ground, the Pentagon was destructively damaged, and a hijacked plane crashed on a field in Pennsylvania. These were four coordinated and well-planned attacks by 19 Islamic terrorists from a group known as Al-Qaeda. The attacks resulted in 2,977 fatalities, over 25,000 injuries, and substantial long-term health consequences, in addition to at least $10 billion in infrastructure and property damage. It was the single deadliest terrorist attack on American soil.
As a result, our resolve to take aggressive action against a presumed enemy seemed to bring us together as Americans. More people attended church after this event than in a long, long time. We prayed for those not yet recovered from the destruction of the Twin Towers and the Pentagon. We prayed for the families who lost loved ones on that horrific day. As Americans, we had a determination to protect our homeland from future harm from those whose Islamic ideology was antithetical to our Constitution and our American way of life.
Yet nineteen years later, we elect those of this Islamic ideology to political positions from Representative to city council to local school boards. This is not Islamophobia. This is a fact. Have you not heard of “the Squad” (which includes Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar)? Have you not heard of Keith Ellison (allegedly a Muslim Brotherhood operative) now Minnesota’s Attorney General? Have you heard of Andre Carson, U.S. Representative for Indiana, known for his disdain for Jews? These individuals have all been elected since 9/ll. Since the last election of 2018, more than 50 candidates have secured elected positions from local to national with the hope of adding many more in 2020.
There is now a campaign in full swing called “Million Muslim Votes” where an ad for Biden includes Arabic subtitles and middle eastern music. Within a speech Biden made for the Engage Conference, which kicked off this Million Muslim Vote campaign, he states he will end the “Muslim ban” on day one! I didn’t know there was a ban on Muslims. It turns out he was referring to an executive order issued on January 27, 2017, that barred tourism and immigration from seven countries previously identified by the Obama-Biden administration as being particularly vulnerable to terrorism, partly because of their internal record-keeping was substandard. According to Breitbart News (8/18/2020), these seven nations (Iraq, Syria, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen) happened to be Muslim-majority countries. Still, there was no blanket ban on Muslims from other Middle Eastern countries or large Muslim countries like Indonesia. Later, the executive order was updated or superseded by subsequent orders. A second version dropped Iraq from the list; a third version added North Korea and Venezuela, two countries without substantial Muslim populations. None the less, this part of Biden’s short speech was the first words stated in an ad to encourage all Muslims to vote! Why is that relevant to lift a ban from those countries “particularly vulnerable to terrorism?”
Included in Biden’s speech, he continues to promise the Muslims that they will “be a part of his administration.” Biden is definitely reading a teleprompter when stating a quote from the prophet Mohammad. He tells them that he will incorporate the ideas and concerns of Muslims into his policies… and that their vote matters. These statements have been plucked out of his speech to make a two-minute ad, encouraging all Muslims to get out the vote, resulting in the “largest Muslim voter mobilization in America.” So, what’s the big deal? Biden is NOT going to win this election anyway, right? That all depends on the rest of the population, who are registered to vote and do exercise that right/privilege.
One thing is certain… if a million Muslims show up to vote for Biden, many other democrats will also be voted on the same ballot, including those with Islamic ideology. What does that mean, and why should we be concerned? My concern stems from the core tenets of the Islamic ideology found in the Quran. As mentioned earlier, the Islamic ideology is antithetical to the Constitution. So when the Engage Conference highlighted a determination to “change the course of history…because they have the means, they have the power”, a red light started blinking in my head! The narrative of the conference speakers echoed the desire to improve human rights and create social justice. More emphatically, the desire to rid the White House of a president who, they say, is a fascist who is fanning the flames of hatred, racism, and Islamophobia.
The last time I checked, fascism was a “form of authoritarian ultranationalism characterized by dictatorial power, forcible suppression of opposition, and strong regimentation of society… with intolerant views or practices.” Hmmm, sounds more like living under Sharia law as found in the Quran of the Islamic ideology. Having lived as an Infidel in the Middle East, I felt the authoritarian, dictatorial pressures of Sharia law. My “human rights” were almost nonexistent. As a woman, I was not allowed to work nor drive a car and was subjected to other intimidations as an Infidel. I longed to return to the U.S., where rights are given by God and secured by our Constitution. I’m thankful we have a president who upholds our Constitution and values every citizen regardless of color, sex, or race.
Wisdom calls out to our citizenry to discern the potential destruction of our liberty by those who purport to have a motive for those things that sound good but, in the end, are destructive. In the words of Bonhoeffer, “Not to speak is to speak and not to act is to act. Silence in the face of evil is evil itself. God will not hold us guiltless!” Our silent majority must NOT be silent anymore!!!!!
