Silence Isn’t Always Golden

By DeAnna Willman

There is an old saying that “Silence is golden.” This can be true in certain situations. But there is one situation where the silence, especially of believers in YHWH (GOD), is not golden; it is shameful. Proverbs 24:11-12 says, “Rescue those who are being taken away to death; hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter. If you say, ‘Behold, we did not know this.’ Does not He who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not He who keeps watch over your soul know it and will He not repay man according to his deeds?”

God expects us to speak up for and help those who cannot help themselves. He expects us to speak out against and do something to stop the abortion of millions of babies each year. He is looking for us to speak out and fight human and sex trafficking. He wants us to speak out and do our part to stop the inhumane and unrighteous treatment of others. We are to help those in need, following the example of our Messiah. But there are too many out there who are silent. They do not speak out, do not help stop the injustice, do not even think about those who are being affected by such injustice. Even worse, many Christians are supporting those who do these horrible things!

When we believers continue to support these companies, people, and regimes with our money, we step in line with their beliefs and behaviors. It does not matter if we disagree with their beliefs; if we continue to support them financially, we are just as guilty of the injustice and unrighteousness as those actually doing harm. Something to ponder as we enter the holiday shopping season.

It is shameful that Christians are still shopping at Target, a store that is proud of being one of the largest financial partners with Planned Parenthood and the slaughter of millions of helpless babies each year. Target also believes that its customers should use any dressing room no matter one’s biological gender. Numerous cases of men doing this to spy on women and girls while they are undressing have come forth from this decision, yet Christians continue to shop there.

Amazon has taken off its website books that speak against homosexuality and other sexually sinful lifestyles. It has blatantly promoted those lifestyles by promoting books that glorify them and financially supporting those organizations. Earlier this year, it fired 17,000 of its employees and used the money that would have gone to salaries to send $500,000 to BLM, an organization that has stated openly that it is in alignment with all things sinful. It proudly boasts of supporting the abortion of babies, particularly black babies, it supports the fatherless home, advocates the destruction of private property and businesses, all in order to bring about a godless society.  There are over two hundred other companies that have also financially supported this evil with your money.

The former CEO of Starbucks publicly declared that he didn’t want any “morons” (his word for Christians) who don’t believe in same-sex marriage stepping foot in any of his stores. The company financially supports many organizations that work to force perverted sexuality and fluid genders upon the rest of the country, including our innocent children. Thanks to Christians who go by there every Sunday morning on their way to church, this company can continue to financially support those wicked organizations.

Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts used to be worthy of our trust with our boys and girls but have both embraced the sinful sexual lifestyle choices and financially support the organizations that push that agenda in society. They are also actively recruiting leaders for their troops from the confused sexuality group. Christians have formed alternatives to these groups, but many of them continue to hand their money over to these unrighteous people by purchasing their cookies, popcorn, and other various fundraiser products.

Another organization that takes advantage of our money for evil purposes is the Susan G. Komen Foundation. In eliminating breast cancer, they take our money and turn much of it over to Planned Parenthood. Planned Parenthood was created to eliminate the black population and was highly praised by Hitler and others like him. It does not help young people become good parents to their unborn children. It does not encourage the fathers of those children to provide for them. Instead, PP encourages the women and girls who come to their offices to abort (murder) the precious life growing within that woman or girl. It also provides abortions for girls in the sex trade instead of helping them get out of that bondage. And medical studies over the past thirty years have proven that the more abortions a woman has, the greater her chances of having breast cancer.

Most social media platforms and streaming entertainment platforms have also embraced the perversion of what God created for a man and a woman to enjoy only in the safe boundaries of marriage. This perversion is not limited to adults. NO! They are also supporting and producing films, documentaries, videos, and other entertainment that exploits young girls and boys. This is feeding the wicked sin of porn and pedophilia. Yet, Christians continue to use and even pay for these platforms! After all, we need our entertainment, right?!!! They promote the harm of children and women, but most turn a blind eye to this. Even though we have to sludge through the trash of hell, we will keep those platforms and services so we can be entertained and “in touch” with others.

The NFL and NBA have refused to honor the men and women who fought and died for the freedom of their players to play sports and live a comfortable life. These sports organizations have completely sided with and are financially supporting domestic terrorist groups and socialist organizations that desire to destroy this country, groups who harm the very people they profess to be helping, and the Communist China Party. In fact, these two sports organizations are owned by China (follow the money). China is the country that has oppressed its people for nearly 70 years, persecuted Christians and those of all other religions, sent people to internment camps to be tortured simply because they disagree with the CCP, forced abortions on women, killed perfectly healthy prisoners to harvest their organs for transplants, stolen technological and entertainment products and licenses from us, have taken over an entire city of free people through violence and “policies,” and did nothing to stop the spread of an aggressive flu upon the entire world.

Oh, but we must have our entertainment and our cheap products, so we continue to support those sports organizations and purchase “made in china.”  We proudly wear the jerseys, purchase the merchandising flags and accessories, watch the games, and even buy the overpriced tickets to the games. Obviously, our entertainment is more important than speaking up and acting on behalf of those harmed by these organizations and those with whom they are tied.

Numerous actors, actresses, singers, musicians, authors, and even men and women of the cloth have come out in support of evil. They have called evil good and good evil. They partake in pedophilia, pornography, homosexuality, lesbianism, other perversions, and glorify things such as drugs, alcohol, and sex outside of marriage. Most of these people are also in the pocket of Communist China.  The people involved in Hollywood and the entertainment field support the politicians and organizations that promote those sins and harm the innocent. They demand that the public follow in their footsteps. And the money they make from the sales of their movies, concerts, albums, merchandising paraphernalia, books, studies, videos, and even from tithes go to support and further the cause of such sin. But Christians continue to hand their money over to such people, ignoring that they are helping financially support and promote those things that God has called an abomination. We fail to stand up for those who are ultimately injured by these people and their beliefs.

“Surely God won’t hold it against us,” some say. “We do not believe the same as those groups, companies, organizations, people, and even countries, but they provide us with our comfort creatures. We might be inconvenienced if we stopped financially supporting these workers of unrighteousness and evil. Why does He say in His word that He will hold each of us accountable for what we did or didn’t do to help those being oppressed, persecuted, or harmed in any way? Why would He hold us accountable for the evil things that others are doing when all we did was purchase something from them?”

One person thought he was being clever when he said, “politics/beliefs are like an anus. Everyone has one, and they all stink.”  So, just because many people have bad beliefs or support things that aren’t right, he feels that he’s not responsible for changing his behavior to pursue righteousness and take a stand against sin and evil. It came down to his decision that those evil things others do are not affecting him, so he will not stop supporting those who do evil.  A more truthful saying is, “the only thing needed for evil to grow is for good people to do nothing.”

I believe it was Dietrich Bonhoeffer who said, “To say nothing is to say something.” We may think that our silence on important issues is simply that and nothing else. However, to not speak against something is to speak in support of it by implication. To continue to support the workers of iniquity and fail to help those who are being harmed by others is to say that we support what they do and believe. It is to align oneself with injustice and unrighteousness and actually help to promote those things. It is to wear the name of our God in vain. It is a failure to love our neighbor as we love ourselves. It is a failure to love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength because we have bowed instead to the God of SELF.

If you say, ‘Behold, we did not know this.’ Does not He who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not He who keeps watch over your soul know it and will He not repay each man according to his deeds?” One day each of us will be held accountable for what we did and did not do.

May we repent and speak up with our voices and our money before it is too late.
